Brendan Kennedy

My name is Brendan Kennedy, I’m from the Tati Tati and Wadi Wadi people of the Milloo (Murray River) in North Western Victoria. We are the Traditional Owners of country and we have never ceded our Sovereignty.

My aim is to ensure that all Traditional Owners and First Nations people in Victoria are represented and have a voice regarding any Treaty that includes their country and affects their people.

For too long the majority of our people have been left behind to struggle and survive the oppressive conditions imposed by the colonisers, and their governments.

We have to harness this opportunity to strengthen our status as the original owners of this state. This is also an opportunity to galvanise and unite our people across the state. We have to ensure that Treaty does not divide and conquer Aboriginal People in Victoria.
