Georgia Bamblett

Candidate for the

Bangerang, Wiradjuri

Candidate for Metro Region, Georgia Bamblett

My name is Georgia Bamblett and I am a proud Bangerang/Wiradjuri woman.

I have worked in Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations from the age of 16, from early years, employment, youth work, community development, events and sports. I recently graduated with my Bachelor Business Administration.

I am committed to ensuring that, in all work that I undertake, I strive to improve and provide better outcomes for all Aboriginal communities across Victoria. I believe that self-determination is crucial to all work within and for the Aboriginal community. Aboriginal people must be at the forefront of decision making as we are best placed to determine best practice localized solutions that meet the needs of our community.

As a representative on the First Peoples’ Assembly I will commit to working towards implementing the framework established by the founding members. I recognize that by nominating for the Treaty Assembly that I am obligated to carry on the work of our Elders who have led the way for the fight for better outcomes for our mob.

I want to be a part of this amazing journey so that I am leaving a legacy for my children, their children and their children’s children.
