Grant Hansen

I am Grant Hansen and I’m a Franklin-Hamilton descendant of the Taungurung Nation. I have over 40 years experience in working in Aboriginal Affairs. I have worked over 10 years in all of the following places:

l worked for 12 years in the Commonwealth Government, 12 years in Community Based organisations and 13 years in private enterprise . I have been on many Statewide and National Indigenous Boards . I have been mentored by and associated with some of the best Indigenous peoples of our time.

I am all about Community control, self determination and Treaty. I will represent everyone equally and work with integrity and honesty as I’ve always done. Treaty is vitally important to our mob because we are rightfully reclaiming what is ours. I want a better deal for our people in areas of Housing, Education, Health and the Arts. I also want to see Aboriginal Community organisations better funded and better resourced.

I believe that I can be an asset for our people and I have the experience to be able to work with fellow Assembly members and to be able to negotiate the best possible outcomes.
