Candidate for the

Wamba Wamba

I am Lowana Moore, a proud Wamba Wamba woman living on Naarm. I was born in Swan Hill, and belong to a big family with strong roots in the local community. I spent my teenage years in Bendigo. I know the North-West intricately, and I am well placed to represent and advocate for all of us.

My first job was working as a sales assistant at Target. I worked my way up to store manager. I know first-hand that there is great opportunity for Aboriginal communities to work with business and provide opportunities for our young people.

I have worked in Aboriginal education for over twenty years and am the Community Engagement and Operations Manager at the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Incorporated. I have seen great changes in education opportunities for Aboriginal people over my time, from early childhood through to training and university. I want to be part of the First Peoples Assembly because I believe that education is the most crucial aspect of our advancement as individuals and as a community. Education changes lives, and I have extensive knowledge of the education system.

I am also passionate about the rights of our children in out of home care.
